Located near Gainesville FL, Paynes Prairie State Park encompases 23,000 acres and is comprised of more than 20 distinct biological communities that provide a rich array of habitats for wildlife and livestock, including alligators, bison, horses and nearly 300 species of birds. Here, you can experience marsh, wetland prairie and open water.
This careful attention to the preservation of habitat was my inspiration when deciding to paint a bison.
